Selected under NASA's Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) competition, SpaceX is designing and building the Falcon 9 human-rated launch vehicle and Dragon spaceship to transport cargo and then astronauts to the International Space Station. The launcher is also used by Bigelow Aerospace to carry its habitable modules into orbit.

Three parts: Nosecone, pressurized module, unpressurized trunk
Cargo capacity: 2500kg
Crew Capacity: 7 astronauts
Destination: Earth orbit
Universal docking adapter compatible with ISS docking/berthing systems, as well as future systems under development.

Falcon 9 - launcher

Use: launch of small and large satellites, missions ranging from Earth orbit to inter-planetary missions
