International Space Station (Eng) (Fr)

Once completed (no earlier than 2010), the ISS will be a stepping stone on the way to further human space exploration. Crews will continue to learn how to live and work in space but will learn how to build hardware that can survive and function for the years required to make the round-trip voyage from Earth to Mars. The ISS orbits at 400km from Earth.
