August 07: Bigelow Aerospace announces plans to move ahead with the launch of its first human habitable spacecraft, the Sundancer

Bigelow Aerospace was founded by in Las Vegas, Nevada, by Robert Bigelow. Its main objective is to provide low-cost space transportation systems as well as expandable man-rated structures, accessible to the commercial and public sectors.

     
 

Launched:
Genesis I: in orbit since 12 July 2006
Genesis II: in orbit since 28 June 2007
Altitude: +500km

Planned:
(Galaxy: intermediate module - skipped)
Sundancer: man-rated module, targeted for 2010

Launcher : Falcon 9 (SpaceX)

America's Space Prize: to develop a spacecraft that will carry 5 crew members to an altitude of +400km by January 2010
